Baby proofing...

Kylie: What are you working on daddy, can I help?
Daddy: I'm adding latches to our drawers for your safety...
Kylie: Here let me test this new latch out...

Kylie: It works great!!! If I get on my tippy toes, Ican get my arm all the way in.Needless to say we thought we had the whole baby proofing thing covered. Once Kylie arrived home she quickly showed us that we under estimated her curiosity. She watches everything we do from opening drawers, cabinets and the oven. She learned that the light comes on when she opened the oven door for the first time. Now when she is hanging out with me in the kitchen she wants to hang on to the oven door like some sort of monkey bar and watch the light come on. Do latches for the oven doors even exist? Oh well, hopefully she will grow out of this phase soon but I'm sure it will not be soon enough.

Pictures

I'm not sure why I'm having so much trouble posting pics but every now and then some due go thru so here are a couple of pics until I can post some more to bring the blog up to date.

Kylie meeting Grammy and Pop pop on Sept. 16.

Daddy's little helper. Kylie loves to imitate almost everything we do so when daddy started putting together a table and a couple of chairs we purchased for her, she grabbed a hold of the screw driver and started to imitate the same movement. The project took a bit longer to complete but it made for a great photo op.

Kylie meeting her new friends Alexie (arrived home June '06) and Lily (arrived home Sept. '06)

One of my favorite silly faces. Kylie playing with grandma visiting from MO on Sept. 29.

It's been a month..

As of this past Friday, we've been home exactly one month. Oh and what a month it's been. Nothing could have ever prepared us for this amazing experience not even those people who told us for the hundreth time that our life as we knew it was going to change. Kylie continues to amaze us each day with just how fast she is able to adapt and she is doing great in understanding what we are saying to her although her baby talk at times sounds alot like full sentences in Chinese. Her insatiable thirst for knowledge is exhausting at times. She is very active and loves for me to read books to her, lots of books. I find that she likes to hear the same story or song over and over again. I realize that it is the recognition of those stories or songs that thrill her. She has met her grandparents and charmed her way into their hearts. She is a real ham when it comes to meeting people.

There is so much I can say, but I rather post some pics. Feel free to e-mail me directly if you have any questions.

Congratulations to the families who have just received referrals.

Ooops...having technical difficulties. I'll try to post pics again. In the meantime this pic made it through. This is from this past Saturday at a friends house. Kylie was having ice cream.
